How many days is enough for Venice?

How many days should I spend in Italy? (Visiting Rome, Florence and Venice?)?

  • I'm planning a trip to Italy with my family (brother, sister, mother, father.) We plan to go to Rome, Florence and Venice. How many days should we spend in each city and how long ...show more

I agree with the other answers to this question. Budget can be a constraint, and my answer is "stay as long as you can!" These cities are some of the most beautiful in the world, and rushing in and out will not do you any favors. That being said, spend at LEAST 3 days in each city, maybe more with transition time. I might spend more time in Rome, as there are some really fascinating things to see there. But it's all good.

Not knowing your interests and your budget, it's difficult to answer this, but these are three of the most interesting, most beautiful, most historical cities in the world. I've been to Italy and spent a week just in Rome. I could easily have spent two weeks!! Venice is fascinating and can be very crowded in-season. Florence is everyone's favorite; allow a wekk anyway. The trains are excellent, and all three cities can be reached by train.
