    As far as the best time to visit the Grand Canyon---it depends on what kind of weather and socialization you prefer. I went to the Grand Canyon in December 1976. It was awesome, breath-taking really. Lots of snow on the ground & white-tailed deer very close by. There were some tourists, but not many. The fragrance of the pinion pine burning at a hotel was wonderful! The solitude and quiet was palpable. You can usually only visit the South Rim at this time (because of snow)' On the other hand---if you enjoy hot weather, then Summer would be best. Both South & North Rims could be visited then.

Niagara Falls - The summer. It's more crowded but the Falls is surrounded by a free state park, so there's lots of spots to see the Falls and wander the park. It's free except for parking. Other attractions you have to pay for (but are totally worth it) Maid of the Mist Boat ride (it takes you right up to the falls, awesome) and the Cave of the Winds, you get to climb stairs down to the falls, be prepared to get wet. Bring your passport and birth certificate to be able to cross over to Canada for something fun to do. You are so close you can go over on the Rainbow Bridge. The view is lovely (you cross the Niagara River) and for 50 cents, it's so cheap.

I went to Niagara Falls in early November. It was WONDERFUL. It was a little chilly but with the leaves changing it was wonderful! I loved it and would recommend Niagara Falls during that time of year. If you get to Niagara Falls, Try to hit up the Journey Beneath the Falls. It's AMAZING! We also really enjoyed the Greg Ferwin Theater. It's a very impressive magic show (also where my fiance proposed) :) Enjoy!
