    only if you can carry them all alone. during rush hour it will be very crowded and there may literally be no where to put them. most people who regularly use the Metro limit themselves to one bag..a garment bag, carry on or smaller full size

Yes I handled two bags tandem many time. That any my normal personal bag. If it is going to be too much for you to roll them on and off the elevators, roll them on and off the trains, and roll them to where you need to go when you get off the elevator to the street to your destination, please use a taxi or the blue shuttle (I have done that too).

Whatever you can carry with you. So if you can haul two 50-pound suitcases through the Metro system, more power to you. I will strongly urge you to use the elevators and not the ridiculously slow escalators. And I will also reiterate the suggestion that you NOT go during rush hour.

As far as I know, there is no limit. As long as you can manage the bags on the escalators, and they don't have anything hazardous, you will be fine.

you can take whatever you want on the train luggage wise just make sure you only bring what you can carry for the most part the DC metro is very safe but if you walk on the train with more bags then you can keep track of changes are somebody is going to notice it and steal your stuff
