The stafford loan is a need based loan... There is an unsubsidized and subsidized stafford loans... One the government pays the interest while in school, the other accumulates interest... You have to fill out a FAFSA and turn it in to your school, and they will be able to tell you if you qualify. Basically, your parents have to be really poor for this to work in your favor.
