Best salt water beach in seattle to swim?
-
Hi visiting seattle soon and I would like to know the best salt water beach to swim.
-
Answer:
Seattle's beaches are indeed quite cold, and not exactly the most clean either (much better than East Coast though, we'd imagine). Most people wade, not swim, unless you've got wetsuits. Alki Beach and Golden Gardens are popular sites, though they've been known to have higher levels of coliform and bacteria. Still, people swim there all the time. We have much better beaches for swimming in Lake Washington, though its also very cold too.
