What is a good free email service to use and why?

What email service does Linkedin use for its user interaction emails?

  • I do not know if you have noticed, but Linkedin has a rocking email platform for facilitating user-to-user interaction.  I tried to implement something similar 4 years ago and found the technology to be very complicated, but Linkedin seems to have conquered these complexities. For example, if the system sends you an email or if one user sends another user an email, then the recipient can simply reply from their email client instead of having to log back into Linkedin to type their reply.  This is a much better user experience. Does anyone know of an email platform that supports this type of functionality well? Thanks!

I think, Facebook has the same technique: If you receive an email "New comment", you can click in the link in the mail or answer the mail with your mail agent.
