I would add the following to the excellent advice that has provided: Find a way to develop practical experience with electrical engineering. There are many ways you can do this.  One is to join a student project team at your school, like solar car, Formula Hybrid SAE, student satellite project, or an autonomous vehicle team (land, sea, or air).  Another is to find an opportunity to work in a research lab.  Finally, you can develop practical experience on your own by working on personal projects or interests like amateur radio or microcontroller programming.

Try to pick electrical engineering from outside/exterior environment, work on concepts of distribution of electricity aerial/OH Over Head & UG Under Ground. Contributing your time to understand basics of transmission, distribution will  help to develop bigger picture of Electrical Engineering in quickest way possible, I think! Studying Electrical Engineering at Micro level is just a daunting task, it is very similar to the saying "how to eat an elephant"! Concentrate on softer & easily accessible parts. Cheers
