Why does my ipod only play from the back speakers in my car?

Any way to plug in an ipod so it can play through my car speakers?

  • One of my friends has this device which goes into the tape player in her car and then attatches to her ipod with a wire. My car only has a CD player. Any ideas?

  • Answer:

Most FM Modulators are crap. Only buy one if there is no other option. Depending on your car and your car stereo you can buy a kit that hooks directly to your stereo that allows you to plug your iPod in and using the controls on your in dash car stereo you can play your iPod and have all of the iPod functions available thru the radio. These kits are available for some cars with factory radios, but not all. If you have an aftermarket stereo you can buy a kit that will work on any stereo.

Does your car have a radio? If so, I suggest investing in an FM transmitter! They just plug into your cigarette lighter, and they're really handy! Just set your radio to the right channel and go! http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10045056&catid=&test%5Fcookie=1 Good luck!

You have to buy an iPod accessory device that plugs into a cigarette lighter in your car I think.

I found the best thing since sliced bread...http://www.crutchfield.com/S-9oDEWuNVIo6/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=142FMMOD01 It's not wireless so there's no chance for interference. Not to be confused with an FM transmitter. It basically adds an AUX port to ANY radio. It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. This IS the answer. Totally versatile.

I bought my wife a device which sends the Ipod signal to the FM radio on a preset channel. It plugs into the cigarette lighter for power and the IPod plugs into it. Works great! Check them out at Best Buy.

Get an FM transmitter fro your Ipod. It sends your audio to your radio via FM.
