Where is "place of issue" on UK passport?

Where is the "Passport issue place" on your passport?

  • Hi all, Im applying for a travel visa to australia online with STA travel and it asks for 'Passport issue place', how do I find out what this is? Thanks in advance

  • Answer:

Usually you can either put UKPA or city or town name, country. (eg. London, UK or Suffolk, UK). UKPA (http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/index.asp) is the authority of the passport issuance, like where I am in Singapore, the passport issuance authority is ICA S'pore. I think you can put the country of issue. Your citizenship country. Some passports have: City only. so you need to put: the City, country. for example: Los Angles, United States of America.

it is asking 'issuing country"? do you remember in what country that passport was issue in? Most of time citizenship is same as issuing country. if you look at the bar code on the passport main page position 1 and 2 is document type then position 3-5 is issuing country. does position 3-5 have "GBR" in it? if so, then that is your issuing country.

Look on the photo page of your passport. The city where it is issued is listed under "authority". This is the passport authority that issued the passport. I believe.
