This blogger recommends a proxy that I use to access Facebook in China. I suggest reading the guide (super short and to the point) and you can use the free trial offered to check it out: http://unblock-proxy.co/unblock-youtube-with-unblock-proxy

Chances are, your company or school offers VPN service that you can use (but check if it's allowed. Some companies prohibit accessing internal network in China) Or, if you are a webmaster, you can set up SSH tunneling. These two methods are usually the most stable and fast, as they route through private servers that the government cannot crack down Then you have paid-for services, either VPN or SSH. Quality differ, but most likely they will work. Crackdowns are possible but rare, so your best bet might be to choose a low profile service Finally, there are numerous free services. GoAgent is based on Google App Engine, and therefore subject to some limitations imposed by Google. Freegate is usually fast, but is an active target of the government, and therefore may not be stable. Tor, contrary to popular belief, is not usable at all, as evidence suggests Chinese government set up a large network of fake servers and actively blocked all known endpoints

You need a VPN that you obtained outside the country. Once you are inside, you won't be able to access anything. You can try the one on the website, but my guess is that since there is a blog on it, it would have been blocked by the Chinese authorities by now as are all proxies that are dumbly posted publicly. There are many you can use but download before and use the paid ones not the free ones. Hope that helps :)

You need to get a proxy or vpn and then you can access those sites. I used a vpn when I was there in Shanghai. It worked o.k. Those sites were kind of slow though.

Hi, I had this same issue: expat in China, couldn't access Facebook, gmail etc. I knew about the firewall before going there, so I thought: OK, I'm smart, I'll just use any VPN as I've done before and I'll be able to access everything again.Never had I been so wrong...The Great Firewall of China is indeed great, but not for the users. They have very good software engineers working day and night for the government and some large-scale traffic analysis algorithms that make it hard to live a normal online life.I'll give you some reasons: All the free VPNs I tried were useless. As simple as that, the Great Firewall identifies the common VPN protocols (using deep packet inspection with good heuristics, I guess) and they drop your packets before you can watch any cats on YouTube. Even SSH is blocked. I thought: OK, maybe I could create an ssh bridge using computers outside of China. Nope, blocked again. Maybe TOR? Nope, not a chance. Public relays were blocked. The only solution left was to pay for VPNs specialized in China. As other people correctly said, always pick a service that's outside of China.I started with ExpressVPN, which claimed to be the fastest VPN for China users. Finally something worked! But meh, the speed was OK on my computer, and very slow on my smartphone (which had a different internet provider). After the first month I decided to look somewhere else and I began using http://VPN.ac, which turned out to be much faster and reliable both on my computer and smartphone. I used it until I left China, about 6 months ago. The good thing is that they make it possible for you to choose which protocol, port and location you want to connect to. It's kind of an advanced feature but I only found the optimal configuration for me because of that.In case you're curious, the way to go is to disguise common VPN protocols as other kind of traffic (e.g. HTTPS). Your VPN provider does that for you. And then, once you're inside the VPN tunnel, you can use services (like TOR, Facebook) normally. But beware, the Chinese are smart. Sometimes your connection to the VPN (and only to the VPN) magically drops, and if you don't have the right protection, you will accidentally refresh the page and this will expose you. (It's not a big of a deal if you were just watching guitar lessons on YouTube, but you never know what might piss an authoritarian government).Good luck and be safe.

You can use private proxies, VPN networks or dedicated youtube proxies. Everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. And these methods can be used to unblock youtube in any blocked area or country as you mask yourself with another ip from another country. Here are some dedicated youtube proxy servers you can use to easily surf youtube. http://www.geniusbloggers.net/best-youtube-proxy-servers-list/ For VPN's search free vpn networks and you can find many like http://justfreevpn.com hotspot shield etc.

Looks like everyone here is promoting a VPN service to get over the Great Firewall of China, so I may just make some suggestions on VPN selection. I'm from China and used to hav same problem as u do and I've tried dozens of crappy VPN services that claimed to be free and easy-to-use but turned out to be shit. Now I'm using VPNcup. Unlike many other proxies that even require a single app to log in, it just requires a few adjustments in ur network settings then u're good to go. Fast and stable. Its homepage is http://vpncup.com where u can find all the information u need. Of course it is not for free, but I think 50Â¥ CNY a month with nearly unlimited use is quite fair.
