I am a student of software engineering 3rd yr but i have no interest in coding. Can anyone tell me what all job profiles are there in technical field apart from coding? Also can anyone tell me how many non tech companies visit campus and how to prepare?

Answer:
I am writing this based on my own experience ,opinions may vary. Usually non-tech profiles offered to SE/COE/IT guys are analyst profiles. As you've mentioned earlier you have no interest in coding but usually some companies require a little bit experience in programming which you might have gained by now owing to your branch and the coursework you are supposed to do. Many companies like Futures First don't require any coding but you've to be good in aptitude Prepare for communication skills, have regular Group Discussions with your friends, read newspapers--Hindu/TOI editorial sections. Some companies ask about case studies use Vault Guide .Use any quant module from a CAT buddy,to start you off with for aptitude.Basically a little bit of experience in C/C++ --depends on company--,aptitude,communication skills, some HR questions--strengths,weaknesses etc. is pretty much all you need. EDIT Also join groups like DCE Placement Fundas on https://www.facebook.com/groups/dceplacementfundas/ ,They might have sessions aimed at non-tech companies in near future. I also can't tell you the details of companies that have visited this year, but I assure you with decent preparation you can get a neat job in non-tech sector. Best of Luck for your preparations.

I don't know much about the preparation but I can give you an overview of the companies and profiles you can expect. Most non- tech companies offer sales/marketing positions, some offer consultancies, and very few offer financial roles. These positions may be within 'technical' companies like Microsoft or non- tech ones. In addition you may have roles like those offered by FutureFirst that are to do primarily with stock trading. You are expected to have a strong mathematical background to get through this one. In addition, some profiles allow you to explore a side of coding different from the algorithmic coding we are used to such as that involving machine learning, financial model simulation etc which come under the purview of the 'analyst' profile. All the very best with whichever path you choose :-)
