Is it true that core java development doesn't have much future in the IT industry? Which are the other technologies that have a better scope?
-
I've been working for an MNC in India for the past 1 year. The company offers me more than 8 lakhs per annum and I'm pretty much satisfied with the work. I'm currently working on a core java project. But my friends have been telling me that core java doesn't have much future and I should try to move to some other company that uses better technologies(JEE,BigData etc). They say that once I get a "core java developer" tag, it'll be difficult to get a good project that uses some other advanced technologies in future. Should I really consider switching the company? If yes, what sort of projects/technologies should I be looking for(those that have a bright future)???

Answer:
I have seen two types * Those that don't care about what technologies a candidate already knows. All they care about is problem solving ability, fluency in coding and knowledge of datastructures and algorithms. The idea is that if the candidate is smart, she/he can learn any technology. These include some of the biggest software companies - google, microsoft, amazon and more. Their interviews are all about solving programming problems.* Others that are looking for specific skills - J2EE, big data etc.So even if you continue working on core java, you would still be eligible to appear in interviews of 1st type of companies. Since you have just started your career, don't worry too much for now. Having said that, I would advise you to continue learning and acquiring new skills in your free time. Don't stick to one technology. You can look at job boards and linkedin to find out which skills are high in demand right now.

Like it's name core Java., this is core of any technology related to Java,. So if u have good command on core Java no need to know any other language and technology. Yes you should go for advanced Java , and framework in Java. Everything is related to core Java. So basics of any language is sufficient to go forward on same platform. And now a days everything is Java. Without Java people can't go one step forward. Java related technology and products are basic need of human being. So dear don't worry about anything if you know core Java. Just learn more and practice more.
