I am going to be visiting London next week and would like to know if there is a place near london that usually gets snow in the winter time? thanks.

The only place in the UK that "usually" get snow in winter is the far north of Scotland. Everywhere else gets snow occasionally but never regularly, and certainly not as far south as London.

Nearest place is probably the French Alps. Paradoxically, easier to get to by train from London than (say) Glencoe and absolutely guaranteed to have snow.

It doesn't really snow much in that part of the country. You'll have to go to north, Scotland would be your best bet.
