    Yes, most people speak English there, however, it would be helpful if you tried to pick up some French. Try your local library and see if they have any books on tape / CD that you can check out. In Switzerland, they speak German in the parts that are near Germany, French in the parts that are near France (like Geneva), Italian in the parts near Italy, and a small area speaks "Romanish", it's own latin based language. Frankly, the more native people you get to know, the better off you will be. Find a good active church with a lot of young people (people who want to practice their English on you and will be willing to help you learn enough French to be dangerous). Or if you have some hobbies, try to find some kind of club there (chess club, camera club, tennis, etc.).
