  • I know that if youre under 21 you need a 21 year old in your cabin/ conjoined cabin, but would one 21 year old count as a "chaperone" or "adult" for, say, 6 other ...show more

  • Answer:

If you are considering some sort of group of folks under age 21 sailing together, I suggest you begin by speaking with a travel agent who books a lot of cruises. Generally, the rules are one responsible adult per cabin, or with family groups a responsible adult in an adjoining cabin. However, cruise companies are able to handle special groups and are often willing to make certain adjustments for student groups who are chaperoned by teachers/parents. The cruise companies require details of name, address, age, and nationality at time of booking. When one appears at the dock to board the ship, he or she is required to present positive ID that matches the information from the booking, and they check that ID against what is in the computer. Normally, the ID required is a passport. So -- if John Smith is booked, only John Smith is allowed to board, not his friend Jim Brown as a substitute.

I would think if they were in the same room just 1, but if it is connecting rooms 2. I would think one adult per room.
