How much does a massage on a Norwegian Cruise cost?

What is the approximate total cost for a cruise vacation?

  • About how much would a 7 day summer carnival cruise cost? Like, one of the cheaper rooms, including airfare, the cruise cost, approximate excursion cost and on-board spending...food, ...show more

  • Answer:

I live in the Midwest and thus fly to and from cruise departure and arrival ports. My "rule of thumb" is that I simply double the price of the cruise, and that gives me a very accurate total cost -- the fare, airfare, hotel the night before the cruise, tips, moderate drinking, limited shopping, one or two excursions, and $100 for the casino. Thus, if the cost of the cruise itself is $1500, I figure on $3000 for the total, and for me it works out to be quite accurate.

Who knows. You kind of need to say where you are flying to and from, etc. Just go on the cruise site and put in your parameters and let the cruise line price it for you. Then add about $40 a day minimum for tips and drinks.

Can't be sure there are a lot of variables to consider, if you like you can compare it to mine. I am driving down from north to south for a four day carnival cruise in may ... so far room, my share of gas, hotel when we get down there, shore excursions, plus stuff you need to go down there w. like clothes and such, so far im up to $1600 including a passport that im more than likely not getting in time for the cruise which is another story but ill be okay w. just some other forms thanks to the carnival people who i called.

Some lines have special deals on air fare. I did a couple cruises out of Florida that ran about $1300 for 7 days, including airfare, but that was a couple years ago. I'm going on one next Sunday; it's running $1100 per person. The nice thing is that the cruise terminal is only 2 hours away so I don't have to mess with planes and airfare. I'm estimating another $1200 for booze, tips, and an excursion. I got 2 room and we will have balconies for the first time. I'm psyched.
