Can I get the deposit back if I cancel a cruise and can't get travel insurance?

Normally you'd get everything back except for your deposit. However, if its medical related you may be able to get a 100% refund if a doctor writes a note to the cruise line saying he cannot medically go. But that's up to the cruise line. You may never be able to get a refund but maybe perhaps they could reschedule your cruise at low or no cost. Hope this helps. And I hope the best for your husband.

You need to be speaking with your travel agent about this! For future reference, there IS travel insurance available for people with pre-existing medical conditions! I happen to have TWO major diseases, both deadly, and never have trouble getting travel insurance, which my travel agent gets for me. It is a bit expensive, but well worth it. Also, it needs to be purchased at time of booking. So long as things are stable and so long as I feel good, I travel.

The deposit is always refundable if it is before the last payment date. A travel agent may charge a cancellation fee. ℬ ℋ

that depends on the TA some do not refund deposits, or charge fees to cancel or make changes try insuremytrip dot com. there ARE ways to get insurance to cover all and any existing conditions. also it may be covered under the cruise lines( although it will be expensive)
