NCL cruise - Baltic Capitals - alcohol / drink prices ?

Having done the cruise you are about to embark on, alcohol on-board can be rather expensive, usually charged to your cabin account. As for taking your own, don't make it too obvious, maybe be a bottle of Gin and a couple of bottles of wine to get you started, some cruise lines try to charge you corkage. As for mixers and mineral water that is quite cheap. Suggestion: Get yourself a collapsible shopping bag on wheels, that way you can buy a few bottles at ports of call and take them to your cabin. Then hide them in the wardrobe or fridge. We found this a very acceptable way of keeping costs down. Do not be tempted to take a bottle of wine into the restaurants with you, the maitre d' gets rather upset. Best let him sell you one!!! If you are going into Swedish, Norwegian or Finnish ports DO NOT be tempted to buy alcohol it is VERY EXPENSIVE, a bottle of whiskey will cost you around 60€. Also be very wary of Polish White Spirit (Polish Vodka) it could launch a moon rocket and has a kick like a mule. Genuine Russian "Vodka" has a similar propensity.......
