What should we take on a cruise?

What do i need to know if iam going to take a cruise?

  • i got this free cruise and this is my first time take in one can you tell me what to take and not to take what do i need to know about it what to spend on what not to buy thing that ...show more

  • Answer:

If this "free cruise" is one you supposedly won for two or three days departing from Florida, it is a scam. Throw those papers away! The ship is dirty and miserable, the "fees" are ridiculous, and you will be sucked into numerous meetings which are high pressure sales pitches for time shares. Now, if your "free cruise" is something you won at work or is a trip being paid for you by a friend or relative to go along, go enjoy! Go to the cruise company web sites, read every shred of information, look at all the photos and deck plans, and look for the FAQ -- all will show you lots of good things and tell you just about everything you need to know! If after doing all that you have additional particular questions, please feel free to ask them here, and you will get some very good responses. There are some VERY knowledgeable people who respond to questions here!

Pack only what you need, depending on where you are going could be a swimsuit, shorts, underwear, personal care products, etc. Make sure to take a jacket and flip flops for taking a shower. I would buy locks to be on the safe side so you can lock up your suitcase when you are not in your stateroom. If you get a card (we call it a ship and sail card) for i.d and spending purposes, put CASH on it instead of linking it to your debit or credit card to avoid overspending. Make sure to have some cash on hand bc it is super expensive to use your card over seas. Have fun...cruises are great and the food is awesome. Oh yea, you might want to invest in some motion sickness medicine too if it is your first time.

Well the great thing about a cruise is that all your meals are included. Although some cruises have specialty restaurants that you can pay more to eat in. They are usually pretty fairly priced sine they know you can eat at the other restaurants for free. Make sure you take plenty of beach clothes as you will be going to the pools and the beaches on your stops. Don't forget sunblock as all the sun could tke it's toll. Also if you plan on taking an excursion, make sure you do your research to see if you might be able to get a cheaper price.
