    You are right. Pay is low by American standards. But you are not working in America. This is an international ship in international waters. They hire people from all over the world and are not required to follow any wage or labor laws. Most of the security officers come from very poor countries. The cruise ship companies can hire experienced security officers for better pay than they would get at home but still much lower than an American would expect for that job.

It doesnt matter where you go without a education or inside hook-ups you arent going to make alot of money also the last cruise that I took this past April 2012 I was informed by a worker that they are on contract which is approx 6months....Why dont you just go back to school and obtain a degree or trade Take Care
