Was Bruce Lee really a Good Fighter or Did He Just Fight Good in Films?

He is the best martial artist of all time.

he was an actor, we have no evidence he ever actually faught anyone. there are reports of him fighting wong-jack man, however most reports say he lost(actually all the reports except those from his family), its still hard to say whether the fight actually took place however as the reports are ..not in very good agreement. Wong-jack man did challenge lee to a rematch, lee never responded. all of bruce lee's writings which so many claim are innovative and influential are actually plaugurized, mostly from the book of five rings but also from a variety of other sources. this was not Lees fault however, he read the books and took notes on them, copying down the parts he thought especially important, after his death these notes were published as his own material. all those close to him whose reputation doesn't depend on him having been an incredible fighter all say a very similar thing, which is that he was not a fighter. he was a gifted athlete, but not a fighter. his legend as is often the case with famous people who die young, has become folklore, people want to believe incredible things, and so they do, and pass them on and add little bits until its hard to tell whats true and what isn't. as records were kept during his life however, we can still see what there is actual evidence for, and what seems to have no tracable source. I suggest looking up the accounts of joe lewis and chuck norris(yes the one with the beard) and gene lebell for information from those who have nothing to gain from his image.
