Why is it important to use substitute energy?

Can you you use the Chi energy to substitute for the physical energy when lifting weights?

  • Answer:

There is absolutely no evidence to support chi exists. It's a ancient theory vs. modern physics, chemistry, math, and technology. Now get your head out of lollipop island and come to reality...EDIT: your comparing two different things. The science community doesn't waste time on things like ghosts and Bigfoot as it has no benefit to them. Chi has been extensively studied as it would be great benefit if it were proved. I think people mistake chi for kinetic energy(energy created by movement). Humans create it by contracting their muscles and moving! And no, it cannot be controlled or directed in any way.

Chi is nothing more then energy and is bound by the laws of electricity. You can no more life weights with chi then you can with electricity And yes there is evidence, I just don't feel like writting it out again on my phone

Chi isn't real. It's people like you that allow the shark/tiger/elephant killing business to thrive in Asia, due to their 'mystical' properties. As Jacob suggested, stop living in fantasy land.

Just ignore the naysayers. They feel better if they give their opinion, even though you're not asking for it. People like them who don't understand how to read questions don't deserve a response. They won't be convinced just as you won't be swayed. Qi is the life force of vigor and vitality, so you are already using Qi as physical energy. The difference in "using" Qi is by how much intent, will and concentration you put into it, which is a mater of training to use it rather than developing it up like a muscle. It's the muscle of use that needs developing. It's possible to exert more physical force by using more Qi than you already are, but that takes practice to develop, or in a moment of extreme emotional outburst, like the 100lb mom her lifts up a car to save her little girl from dying.

How many skinny Asian guys do you see sweeping up Olympic weight-lifting medals?

" Science can't prove the ghost paranormal activities but that doesn't mean ghost spirit doesn't exist." The same can be said about Santa Claus. You believe in him too? Or maybe you prefer the Easter Bunny. Or unicorns?

Sometimes they use words in ye olden days to explain things they don't know exactly what they are. And before you say anything, I'm a firm believer in the supernatural, and I do believe one day it will be proven. However when that time comes, we'll be speaking a different language when describing things supernatural. Ghosts will be called something different, reflecting more of what they are made of and what they do. And that is done because we understand them more. It's the same with Chi. What they called chi may still be "Chi" in the broadest sense, but it has other names because we understand it more. It can be technique. The subtile differences between a good technique and bad one. It can be attitude. It can be balance, body language. But this idea of some kind of energy that exists independent of natural forces is just silly.

Chi is energy, so yes. Physical energy is Chi. You are using Chi when you are lifting weights. "Science can't prove Chi doesn't exist", as much as it cannot prove the non-existence of the flying spaghetti monster or your preconception of what Chi really is.

The term chi covers all the energy our body uses (physical, emotional, elements, etc...). So I think its not a substitutes for physical energy (unless one considers muscular tension as physical energy) but rather a more efficient use of it. The mind sends the intent to the body part but the energy that goes there is lost every which way. Muscle tension, mental agitation, clogged qi meridians, etc... all reduce your strength. IMO, muscular tension, though physical, is the improper use of energy as much of it is wasted on the tension instead of its intended use (movement or action). Nothing wrong with muscles itself but the habit of tensing them when encountering force of any kind (inner or outer) i.e when throwing a punch, one has to relax the whole body. If one wants to hit someone really hard out of anger, the intention causes tension in the shoulder and the rest of the body and actually weakens the punch. So all actions actually do use Chi buts its weak and clogged so people end up using almost all muscles instead. The mental and physical is also not linked properly due to bad habits. One can lift weights with Chi and not muscular tension but its takes effort to train. You want to return to the state of a baby. They have almost no muscle or use of muscular tension but they have incredible strength for their size because all the energy reaches where their mind intends. Plus they have enough chi to use because they have yet to waste it all and develop bad habits to block it.
