Will the AFL ever make channel 7 show all friday night games Live?

No. Channel 7 in Brisbane seems to think that a rerun of Lindsay Lohan in the "Parent Trap" will get better ratings!!

Mate, it will be in their contract that they don't have to, which is a shame and I hope they fix fast. I enjoy pay tv playing the games because where I live you get sweet stuff all AFL on free to air. As an interesting footnote to this, I find it interesting how the commercial channels want us to sign a petition to keep Aussie sport free to air, But they will not play sport live Cause it doesn't suit their format? They need to pull their socks up, before they loose the rights to every sporting event, and we all watch pay tv for the better value and because it is Live. Cheers mate.

Kev seems to know much more about it than I do. So at some stage in the future it looks like they will be given the vendetta of "show it live" or "lose the rights". As for me, I still refuse to watch any game that's not live. Seen less than 5 AFL games this entire season but being super-busy with PostGrad study I don't have a whole lot of time to watch them anyway, but even when I do, if it's not live, I don't bother.

Mate, I assume you're in Adelaide. Stop your whinging then!! (lol) ... Im in southern NSW and had to wait 3 and 3/4 hours to watch the Pies vs Cats game the other week. I think you guys had it on a one hour delay. (So I just went into the Footy Club and watched it) Even the Cats vs Pies prelim last year was on a two hour delay - FFS! AFL doesn't give a rat's testicle for free to air. They have there eyes on the big prizes from Cable, here and OS. Gone are the days when the fan's owned the game.

yeah i dont get it when they both have the games on and the other one is on main event which sucks because there in no post game coverage on main event. the AFL wont make 7 show live games, they do what they want, unfortunately we have to wait untill 2012 for the new broadcast rights. in queensland friday night footy is not on until 11:30 so i call it saturday morning footy, its quite pathetic.

in qld. you will get friday night live. when the lions are playing. other wise 3 to 4 hr delay. chanel 7 don't care. because foxtel have the rights to friday night live now. chanel 518. it doesn't matter what game. its on. needless to say. that i cant live without it. chanel 7 and chanel 10 are a crock. they didn't have the collingwood v geelong game on live up here in qld. because it wouldn't have rated high enough. another crock. the abc should have the rights to the footy. and who ever is in govt should help them win it. cheers.
