65% of NZ population are of European descent. There are very many similarities between the two cultures to be honest. Not too different at all. I have many British friends who have come out here expecting the worst, but have ended up loving it. In any case, all you can do is give it a fair go :) Hope you enjoy it!

There are definitely a lot of British/Irish people here in New Zealand, both in the North and South Island. Also, the NZ European race is made up of descendants from Europe.

When I was checking statistics couple years ago 40% immigrants to New Zealand was from UK. So you can imagine there a lot of British there.
