How high can a horse jump?

Well, it depends on size and breed, however the world reccord for the highhest jump is 7ft 10in! wow!

Most reasonably fit and trained horses and riders can get up to about three feet. Very serious amateur riders can get up to four feet. Usually only the pros get up to five feet or over. How long it takes to get there depends on your natural talent, number of days a week you can ride, and how seriously you practice. I would estimate two years of serious practice at least to go from beginner to three foot jumper. Epona - I have a hard time believing that you jumped 4'6" cross country jumps bareback when the maximum size at Advanced Level is 4'1".

I am 15 and do about 3ft-3'3. That being said I know of lots of girls my age who do the 4fts. I never really had the funds to expand my riding at an early age(I started when I was 8 and was on school ponies until I was 12). on average I think most teenagers who have been riding a fare amount of time do anywhere from the 3fts-the 4fts(although there are a few who do the 1.40m and they are 15). I guess it really depends though. Im not thinking clearly today so I hope this made sense!

My horse would easliy jump 4'6" cross country fences for me (bareback and without a bridle -- wearing just a halter/headcollar with leads attached!). He was about 16.0 h.h. and I was a foolish teenager! How long does it take? No easy answer. It depends on the person and the horse they are riding. Some people don't jump their horse higher than 3'6" or 4' tops, no matter how long they ride. Depends how brave (or foolhardy) the person is.

the average horse can jump up to 3 feet. Jumping really high depends on your trainer, you, and your horse. Lots of people can jump 5 feet or over....and lots cant (me for example:))
