A career in International Development or Social Work??? Please help!?

I'm currently in the process of choosing what I want to be seeing as I'm in my last year of high school, and I can't decide between these two fields...I want a career that ...show more

If you want a job with the UN, you will need at the very least, a Masters Degree in something like International Development, Politics etc. To go along with that, you will need a fair amount of experience. Getting jobs with other development agencies is one way to do that, but in general the International Charity jobs market is more competitive than the private sector. Something to consider would be to do some voluntary work - something like VSO or the Peace Corps would be a good place to start.
