the first world organization was "the league of nations" based in geneva switzerland. And existed between world war 1 and 2 and was basically irrelivent do to its lack of action on world conflicts such as the italian invasion of ethiopia. It also denied certian nations the right to have a say in the league such as the USSR. The league became completely useless with the begining of world war2. Todays united nations is loosly based on hte league of nations. the biggest difference being it haveing gotten more done .
