    I think people are going to get hung up on (sustainability)? If I read the question right, It would pertain to seasonal cycles. Most cycles in my area of the country run 3wet, 3dry, alternating periods. It gives a generalization of when to plant and what to plant. That's regional though and hasn't changed drastically for the last thirty years. It could however influence the global market on the supply and demand principle. Ranging from everything to livestock to bio fuel crops. So yes natural cycles can be extremely important from regional extending to a global scale.
