What is more important NASA or NOAA?

Based on NASA, HadCRUT and NOAA, how can anyone say the temps have declined for 11 years?

  • Answer:

Maybe because those agencies are in the pocket of the Government, and they don't want their funding cut, which would happen if they don't say what the gov. wants to hear.

Here is a link from an earlier post on the PDO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_decadal_oscillation I don't like to make predictions on short term events anyway since they are pretty much meaningless to me. Looking through some of your graphs, they also seem to indicate recent cooling

The 'man-did-it' global warming craze is built on the surface temperature record. The surface station data has been proven to be corrupt.... worthless. The Warmers will not admit it for fear of losing their reputations and their careers. Therefore, the AGW promoters are the TRUE Deniers!

No one with even a basic understanding of reading a graph can say temps have dropped, this of course won't stop those pushing the deniers agenda from saying it is cooling. A look at the thumbs down Dana has received show those with multi I.D.s (you know who you are) trying to force their point in spite of facts not agreeing with what they are saying. Hot Water: "Scientists are now predicting no more warming untill at least 2015 which some predicting no warming until 2040." I have seen this claim posted several times but as with yours it is nothing more than a claim and to date isn't backed by a link to any 'scientist' who is said to have made the claim.

No one disputes the warming trend over the last 300 years, to deny it is to deny the little ice age and Maunder Minimum. The issue is the period from around 2002 - 2008 during which we have seen the fastest decline in temperature since 1880 corresponding with a drop in solar acitivty and the switch to a negative PDO. Its not the short cooling period, but that fact that we are potentially on the cusp of a long term cooling phase similar to that which caused the cooling scare in the 1970's Scientists are now predicting no more warming untill at least 2015 which some predicting no warming until 2040. If this is correct it has serious implications for the IPCC as their models are already way off after only 2 years and failed to simulate this natural climatic effect. It doesnt disprove AGW, but merely highlights more work is required to better understand the earths climate systems. Most of us just want more open debate, less one sided media coverage and more open minded scientific research that also studies the natural climate drivers, rather than just looking at something that has never driven climate historically. Antarctic ice, why dont you first try the peer reviewed work of Dr. Don Easterbrook, or Keenlyside et al., 2008.

Well NASA is saying the lowest activity in 50 years and they are reducing their activity predictions for the next 3 cycles and confused about what is happening. http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2008/30sep_blankyear.htm http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2006/10may_longrange.htm http://solarscience.msfc.nasa.gov/predict.shtml

wasn't up to checking all your links but temps have changed all over but overall no-one could say decline or increase as each area is different - some areas have declined some increased.
