Is it true that the Earth isn't warming and that all data supports this? For example, this graph demonstrates?

Answer:
Richard Muller and Judith Curry used to be highly lauded by the denier blogasphere because they were critical of the certainty expressed by the body of climate scientists. Curry has been published several times at watsupwiththat, largely because Anthony Watts didn't really understand here. They recognized that the earlier climate scientist did not do well documenting and sharing their work, which lead to critisms. They set out to re-establish the climate record, make their data available to others, and to work with the Anthony Watts organization to test whether the urban heat island effect was currupting the data. What their work now shows is that the previously published data has been correct. The data is further collaborated. There really is nothing left to prove, but of course the anti-scientists who can't change no matter what the science says will now attack them. The initial response from Anthony Watts is very interesting. He notes that the paper by Berkely Group has not yet been peer reviewed. That's a fair critique. What is interesting though is that he regularly post "conclusions" from ameteurs and never before considered peer review important. But the Berkely group has posted links and tools to their data so there will be a lot of review of the data. According to Watts, the paper is scheduled to be published in The Journal of Geophysical Research. The Berkely Group's research is done right, open to checking and well documented. All the politicized suggestions of hidden data is now gone. And yet, we see that the data was right all along.

If Source = Berkely. Source = untrustworthy. Source, reject. If I carefully select the duration of my graph, I can make it say almost anything. Ten years ago, it was pretty much predicted that we'd all be dead from heat. It hasn't warmed since then. read "How to lie with statistics" and get back to your teacher on this one.

The earth IS warming, and peer reviewed scientific analysis confirms this. Your link is a good one. Richard Muller, who conducted the study, was once a very skeptical climate scientist that decided to do a complete analysis of all the global temperature data. He is now convinced that temperature is rising.

The earth is warming, end of story.

look very carefully at the graph. It shows a noticeable rise from 1980-2000 and since then the temperature has gone DOWN. Take a line across the graph from the mid 2000's to the mid 1800's and you'll see the number is with a half degree Celsius of the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. You can't have global warming with temperatures going down, especially during years when China is pumping CO2 into the air like, well, like there's no tomorrow.

Global warming is a long term phenomenon, and it has taken many decades of reliable measurements (of temperature and many other things) to establish that the trend really exists. That has been now been done and there is little doubt on the matter amongst top scientists. I am however, a skeptic, when it comes to the motives of Richard Muller. U.S. National Academy of Sciences, 2010: http://books.nap.edu/openbook.php?record_id=12782&page=1 “Climate change is occurring, is caused largely by human activities, and poses significant risks for a broad range of human and natural systems.” http://nationalacademies.org/morenews/20100716.html “Choices made now about carbon dioxide emissions reductions will affect climate change impacts experienced not just over the next few decades but also in coming centuries and millennia…Because CO2 in the atmosphere is long lived, it can effectively lock the Earth and future generations into a range of impacts, some of which could become very severe.” http://www.nasonline.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ABOUT_main_page “The Academy membership is composed of approximately 2,100 members and 380 foreign associates, of whom nearly 200 have won Nobel Prizes. Members and foreign associates of the Academy are elected in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research; election to the Academy is considered one of the highest honors that can be accorded a scientist or engineer.”
