thats so true. It is disgusting how the forrests are being killed at record speed. THE WHOLE WORLD BREATHES from the rainforrests!!!

Just to make a couple of points of how trees and water availability actually benefit from increased CO2 concentrations: 1. Increased CO2 concentrations decrease photorespiration in plants. Photorespiration is where a O2 molecule is used over a CO2 molecule in the photosynthetic pathway. This process actually costs the plant energy with no gain. By increasing CO2 concentrations, Rubisco, the primary photosynthesis enzyme, is more able to utilize CO2 and thus grow better. 2. 99% or the water taken up by a trees roots is evaporated from pores in the leaves called stomata. The stomata have to be open so the plant can absorb CO2 for photosynthesis. If CO2 concentrations are higher than the stomata do not need to be open as long or as wide and thus the plant uses less water which means there is more available water in the soil. This is a good thing.
