Importance of saving species and biodiversity question...?

Everything in an ecosystem is connected. It is a lot like Jena, you may be able to take a few items out but take too many or the wrong one and the whole thing collapses. In a ecosystem that isn't influenced by humans, nature creates a balance If one year there is an abundance of rain and the grasses grow well, then what ever feeds on it will likely increase their population which means more food for the next thing up the food chain etc. When it gets to the top of the food chain and that species increases it over feeds on the next species down and reduces it's population which in turn creates a shortage of food and the all the populations reduce. If you take one item out of the cycle then you create a shortage of food for one and shortage of predator for another.
