  Maybe as a minor your might want to explore biology. It wont hurt, and besides the extra credits would do you good. Yes climate change scientists also look into biology. The changing habits in plant life and animals can also be related to climate change. The evolution of the species. Humans will also become part of this evolutionary change, though we may take a little longer to adapt based on ignorance. Nothing stops me when it comes to learning. I havent been in school in years, but research in many studies helps me understand the basics of life. So whether you have a degree in geology or plumbing, nothing should stop your in doing any research on any subject in school or on your own. ;-) Good Luck.
