How do you find your singing voice?

    Songs that you know well and can sing the easiest. Practice every opportunity you get alone, in front of a crowd (Karaoke?) and try to hear yourself (Record it). The more you get used to hearing (And accepting your own voice) and the more you practice-the more confident you will become. This is how I learned. I call it learning to 'Pop Out' your voice. It really boils down to confidence.

well, may i ask you WHY you sing like the artist ? Even if you sing a classic song like 'my heart will go on' then you can make it your own. Try to NOT sing like the artist. I know that's a bad tip but try it. And remember that its your voice who sings all that songs. Try a song who isn't in your voice chapter. if you know what i mean. Like a high song if you have low tunes and in the other way. Then you can drop the tunes so they fit you. And than you made it YOUR song. /hJ ]*

that sounds like someone (i forget who) who was singing Be Without You by Mary J. Blige on American Idol and the judges thought she was unoriginal because she sounded just like the artist... anyways, if you want to find your own voice, you should make up songs of your own so you can see what your range is, or how long you can hold the notes and things like that. Hope it helps! If not, then, oh well...

Use the same songs you sing and play with them try to sing them in your own style,change some of the pitches and add your own.Also make up song using your style,tone and pitch......It's fun and full of practice...Blessings Yahoo
