How do you deep fry a thanksgiving turkey?

I am in agreement with poster A. Banana. If you wish you can also buy one pre fried at most grocery stores. Call around and see if you can find a super market or meat market that have them pre-fried.

Very carefully is right. It's dangerous... too much oil and it can overflow and catch fire. Drop the turkey in too quickly and it can splash & burn you. Look up Alton Brown's fried turkey episode on youtube-- he gives step-by-step not only how to make the bird flavorful, but how to do it very safely.
