How To Learn Quran?

When ur trying to learn the Quran off by heart, is there a particular order u have to memorise the surahs in?

  • salaam, hope ur all well inshAllah yea i wanna try and learn the Quran off by heart, is there particular surahs i should learn before i learn the others? also what tips would u ...show more

  • Answer:

Start with the later and smaller surahs. Here are some tips: 1) Allah has made our brain such that if u try memorizing something by heart all at once, u will forget it soon. But if u do it at intervals, it helps. If u try to memorize 2 pages by repeating them 100 times at once, it doesn't help much. But if u do it by repeating them a few times in the morning, a few times in the evening, a few times before sleeping, a few times the next day, and so on for 4 or 5 days, u pretty much get to know it. 2) It's very fruitful if u repeat the new lesson at night about 10 times before u sleep, and revise it early in the morning too (about 5 times). That one really helps. 3) Whatever u intend to memorize each day, listen to it several times on an audio cassette. Repeat with the reciter on the audio cassette. Go to YouTube and listen to recitations from Sheikh Sudais & Shuraim. This will ensure correct pronunciation and grammar. 4) Make sure that after you're done revising each day, read to someone else. You won't be able to catch and all of your own mistakes by yourself. Also, have the person mark your mistakes (with a pencil) in your Qur'an so that next time you can go back and fix them. 5) Make sure that u revise for at least 1 hour per day. I mean, revise whatever u have learned previously. 6) There are 3 things that u daily ought to attend to. ---Memorizing a new lesson. ---Revising all what u memorized yesterday, and the day before that. ---Revising a part of what u have memorized before. 7) Initially, u'll probably memorize 1/2 a page each day. As u progress, ur memory will become stronger, and u'll be able to increase the number of pages u do each day. 8) When u memorize, recite loudly---for that will employ ur sense of hearing in addition to your sense of vision. If you recite in a very low voice, it's not nearly as affective, since you don't use your sense of hearing much. 9) U need to have a teacher or someone who will keep pushing u, unless u deem urself a person of iron will.

wa alaykom assalam i would try with the shorter surahs first, as they are easier to memorize and work my way from the end of the Quran to the beginning. yes, you can do it that way as well, learning a specific number of lines per day. good luck ^_^

Al-fatiha is the first surah you should learn, good luck!!

No I'm sure it doesn't matter. But people usually start with the ones in part 30 coz the surahs are shorter and easier to remember.

Mashallah lil sis tat is such a cool idea, May Allah make it easy 4 u. Since my hubby is a Hafiz this is wat i would suggest 2 u: 1.The Makarij should be correct.(bringing out the correct alphabetic sounds as in Arabic). 2.It must be learnt with correct tajweed. 3.Read after a good Qari or a shiekh on a tape like (Sheikh Al Huzaifi, Imam of Masjid an Nabawi) He is one of the best in the world 2day May Allah give barakah in his life. 4.Revising wat u learnt during ur salahs or at Tahajud. 5. Learn with translation as it is more beneficial. 6. maintain a life of Taqwah as it will give u the true noor of the Quraan. 7. Make some one who knows Quraan well listen to wat u'v learnt at least once a month. *First Learn the Surahs which u need to recite in regular basis or recomeneded to learn by Rasulullah(s) due to the virtues it might have like Mulk, Sajdah, Kahf, Yaseen, Baqarah & ........ I pray this will help u inshallah.

walekum assalam It is good u want to learn it all... Everyday in morning after fajr prayer.. Count on ur hand 7 times. Read the 6 lines seven times..And listen to it by different sheikh's...I recommend Sheikh Shuraim. Because he neither goes too fast nor too slow. MAhir Alafasy, Sudais etc.. Recite very slowly. But listen to sudais when u want to hear word by word. After learning somewhat 3 verses listen to shuraim... Recite 7 tiems every morning and 1 hr at night. It is said in Tablighii Jamat book by Idara Ishaat E Diniyaat, by Muhammad talha, that going in the path of Allah is better than whole world and whats inside it. So dont let sleep or tiredness be an excuse. =) may God make u learn them by tajweed and make u and us act upon the Quranul Kareem

Salam sis, Mash'Allah. No particular order sis. Memorize how you are comfortable with. Also don't worry about thinking it's too little, it's better to memorize correctly than to memorize it wrong. If you memorize it wrong it will be hard to fix. Another thing is to listen to the recitation of the verse first to make sure your tajweed (pronounciation) is correct. Once you have memorized certain verses, the next day review what you have memorized that way you don't forget it. "And We (Allah) have made the Holy Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will receive admonition."( Quran, 54:17)

Wa alikum Salam. May Allah make it easy for you. Step by step, concentration, getting rid off all unwanted things away which waste your times, repeatedly listening to an audio of the part that you are about to learn, learning with the help of a teacher and finally your constant prayers will make learning easy Insha-Allah. Once you start memorizing, you will get your own tactics to learn more and easy ways. Follow that. Here are some tips. http://english.islamway.com/bindex.php?section=article&id=172

Hey! Well, I commend you for your intentions and I hope you succeed. :) There is no particular order although you should definitely start with memorizing the shorter Surah's and then move onto the longer ones. I've memorized the shorter Surah's and now I'm working on some longer ones. This will make it much easier for you and will help you when you get to the longer Surah's. I asked this question a while back and got some good answers: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApsgQxd2R1PREpEU0MFWYiXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081108200742AACjIJ0 Just be patient and make sure you pronounce and understand everything correctly. It usually takes 2 years to memorize the whole Quran, but that depends on the individual person. May Allah (swt) reward you for your intentions. Salam.
