I'm looking to listen to some new music, any good Jazz songs out there?

  • I know of John Coltrane and that's about it. Essential Jazz listening or just some good songs would be nice, Thank you.

    I'll sort this into categories Pre-Swing Era- Charleston by Paul Whiteman, and old Louis Armstrong recordings. Swing Era- Anything by Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie. Bop- John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker (A Night In Tunisia is a good one by them), Buddy DeFranco.
