How to dress slick for a jazz festival im playing in? help?

  I would first find out if there will be color coordination. If not, what I used to wear when playing in the fancy middle-eastern band (always dressed up) was a black skort and snazzy white puffy blouse w/rolled up sleeves and on occasion a cool, loose black tie. Ah! If you happen to have long hair and it gets in your way when you play (sticks to your face, etc., lol), a nice black and white-striped scarf just holding the front part of your hair back might add a nice touch as well. Did you know Sheila E, when she played drum kit for Prince, wore high heels?! Sheesh! Not me, I always wore my jazz dance shoes 'cause I also used a pedal for the Mambo Bell to do different timings while I was playing, say a 4/4 and I'd do 6/8 on the floor bell (I'm a percussionist, not a kit drummer). ACK! I WAS a percussionist. Just talking about it took me completely back. But with Black and White you can never go wrong. As a drummer, rolling up the sleeves of the blouse to right below the elbow (securing them) would look awesome as well! You could even wear a cool hat (if you're not too much of a head-bopper when you play, lol. :o) I love female percussionist.
