How to align the valves on my trumpet?

How do i grease the valves on my trumpet? what is wrong with my trumpet?!?

• my trumpet valves dont make a different note when i press them!? what do they need done to them? also, they are very hard to press down!? thanks!

  Get some grease,apply it to the sides of the valves.This should be done weekly.Also,you need to buzz the note.If you buzz a concert Bb,It will come out as a concert Bb even if you press a concert F.So understand that you have to 'sing' the note out and control the trumpet instead of letting the inanimate object control you. Edit:Oh,John T is right.I got mixed up since I play the saxophone and we use grease,but I forgot.Brass instrument uses valve oil,sorry about that.But the 'singing' into the trumpet is true,cause I remember my band conductor saying that.He wants us to learn about all the instruments,so yeah.We sit in for these talks too.
