What is the difference between a symphony orchestra and a philharmonic orchestra?
-
Are there any other types of orchestra as well? I have always heard these terms and wondered what the difference was. Thanks!

Answer:

A symphony is an extended piece of music usually in three or more movements for a full orchestra. A philharmonic is a large or fill sized symphonic orchestra. Hoped this helped .
