Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America. Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star. http://www.indianhealthguru.com Hope this helps.

The most common one I've heard is results that don't last. Many people have to go back for repeat procedures or start wearing glasses again.

see, every surgery has its side effects. Its varies from person to person.usually after lasik,in some cases we have seen some power is still left, but no one get blind.I am just telling u this on the basi of experience, may be it happened ,if good qualified person has not done this. Why r u not opting for Ortho K lens. These Contact Lenses remould the Cornea, to reduce or correct Myopic (short-sighted) and Astigmatic (irregular surface) errors of the eye. In some ways this is similar to the use of dental braces by an Orthodontist to straighten crooked teeth. The main difference is that if a tooth position is corrected for some months it will stay in the new position. However the Cornea is highly elastic, and always returns to its original shape. For this reason the lenses are worn nightly or on alternate nights after the ideal Corneal shape has been achieved and removed in the morning giving perfect vision without the need for spectacles or contact lenses. DOES ORTHOK HAVE ANY ADVANTAGES OVER EXCIMER LASER SURGERY? Yes! The procedure is REVERSIBLE (Excimer is not!). It does not involve post-operative pain. It does not leave the hazy vision often experienced by patients following laser surgery. There is no loss of Bowman's membrane (the tough protective layer just under the Corneal surface). Both eyes are done together (rather than several weeks or months apart). Changes in prescription over time can be dealt with (unlike Excimer). OrthoK is significantly cheaper.

there have been no reported cases of a patient going blind due to Lasik, according to the FDA. http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/1998/498_eye.html towards the bottom of this page there are risks listed.

I've noticed that all the eye doctors I know still wear glasses, which means they haven't had Lasik. There's probably a good reason for it... Go on youtube and search "Lasik." There are some pretty scary videos.

Maybe everyone will go blind. No-one knows the long-term effects, since it hasn't been around long enough.
