What is Optometry?

I want to go to Optometry school but dont know what majors I should select during undergrad.?

    You can major in anything that you want. There is no major that makes it more likely to get in. The reason that many people major in Biology or Chemistry is that you need to take a lot of those courses anyway as pre-reqs so they figure they are almost there towards a major. I would suggest some business classes no matter what major you go with. Most optometrists end up running their own businesses so having some skills there will go a long way.

I think biology or chemistry would be the best bet to go with. There aren't any optometry majors, but some colleges have "pre-optometry" programs. These preparatory sciences will help you develop the skills you need to get into an optometry school. A strong background in the sciences will definitely help you out in the future.
