Where were the best 4th of July fireworks display this year?

Can fireworks be set off in space? For example could NASA celebrate the 4th by launching a huge display.?

  • What would it take to have a fireworks display that could be seen by the whole country?

  • Answer:

no, you need oxygen for the fireworks to be lit. I think they would go out pretty quick.

Take into account that fireworks require (at least most of them) oxygen to explode, or even to light up. So if there is no oxygen, it is not possible to light fireworks or for them to explode, if anything should happen, they should implode from the lack of oxygen; leaving a lot to expect. Phosphorus does not work in the same way and can be used underwater (now there's an idea...)

A-cronos

That won't happen cause theres no oxygen in space and fire needs oxygen. And you need fire for fireworks.

I would estimate it to cost a lot of money. Since sending up a little trash costs alot already.....

I have no idea what it would take but it would be absolutely awesome and beautiful.

I don't think that they could because space is filled with gas (correct me if I'm wrong). A huge METEOR. ;DD
