    Apparently, according to the newspaper this morning (sorry, can't remember which one), the ancient Celts wore them so that evil spirits wouldn't recognize & possess them. Children were believed to be the most vulnerable so they were, I guess, dressed up more elaborately than adults. =] I was a dead ballerina, with a slit throat. it looked pretty subtle, under the lace choker I tied. =] yay! I also had orangy contacts. My colour scheme was almost all black with a little gold. My mom and I make my circle skirt, which was sheer black and a sheer gold layer underneath that. =]

the Celts dressed up in masks, and would put food out on their porches, trying to drive away the devil and other things like that. they believed the devil and other bad spirits raised on ''all SAINTS day'', or ''All hallows eve'' so they felt a need to do this in order to try to keep spirits away. - my costume: aqua fairy
