Well, a coffin is pretty easy to make if it's just going to be used just once. All you need is some cardboard, duct tape, and paint (black spray paint would be my suggestion). Last year I cut open the box a box fan I'd gotten came in and made this little coffin that looked like something some five and under might be buried in (most likely some three year old). Believe it was 27" to 30" long and 16" to 18" wide at the widest with 6 1/2" tall sides. The head end was 12" from the widest point on both the left and right sides and was like 12" wide while the foot end was about 8" wide. So I ended up cutting out seven pieces, the base, three 12" x 6 1/2" side pieces, two 15" or 18" x 6 1/2" side pieces, and one 8" by 6 1/2" side piece. I then heavily taped every joint with duct tape starting on the inside so I could fold each side up and then join them side to side. Then I reinforced the inside joints by taping on the outside. Over taping was the name of the game, made it extremely sturdy. Also used up a roll or two of duct tape, course it was a small roll of something like twenty-five or fifty square feet. Once everything was done I spray painted in black with two or three coats. Looked beautiful, but it was never designed to last very long.

Tombstones are perhaps the easiest decoration to make, and they allow you to express your creative poetic side with the epitaph. Simple styrofoam, carved and painted. There are a lot of instructions for this and other projects at the links.

Using white spray paint, spray the outline of a body like a crime scene. Get some "crime scene do not cross" tape and wrap it around a stair case. An easy idea is getting axes, saws etc out of the shed and putting fake blood on them. There is the obvious spider webs, which add a good spooky kind of atmosphere. Also hunt down old department store dummy's, cut off the top of the skull, hollow it out and its a creepy dip bowl. The other limbs can also be used around the house, dangling from ceiling, bathroom etc.

have a punch bowl and a sign that says 'Draculas blood! So wrong . . . but it taste so good! '

Liver on a stick.
