What are some good Halloween activities/ projects for large groups of kids?

  • We're doing Halloween projects with kids at the school I work for and we'd like some good ideas for them. They'll be in large groups; some are 3-8 yrs old, and the other ...show more

Hi, Maybe the kids would enjoy decorating masks (either the plain white masks that are full face or half, like the ones used for Mardi Gras) with paint, feathers, markers, paper cut outs, etc. Maybe they could have an in class trick-or-treat. I did that in the second grade, lots of fun :) Or they could decorate trick or treat bags and get candy in class, a lot of kids enjoy things like that too. The bags could be regular brown paper bags or white gift bags or anything in between. Then the kids can make designs on them with crayons, markers, paint, etc. They could make a big mural/banner. Take a few sheets of big paper and write a message across them, like Happy Halloween or something like that, the pieces will later be taped together. Give the pieces to small groups to decorate with their favorite things about Halloween. They can draw pumpkins or candy or witches and ghouls or autumn leaves (for things like leaves it's a good idea to have some tracing templates.) Then when you put it together you'll have a whole collaborative piece of art. I hope this helps and have a happy Halloween :)
