What are some ideas for a mad-scientist haunted house?

• every year we have fundraiser for a club at our school. thsi year the theme for the haunted house is mad-scientist. i need ideas for the different rooms in the house. help!!

  In our haunted house last year we had our final room set up as "The Laboratory." There were great answers from other people and instead of going over the same stuff I'll just add. For the test tubes and beakers - Don't limit yourself to just those types of containers, shot glasses, bath salts (the jar with the salts left in it) , and any other strange looking container will look great. They have "neon" food die's but they do not react under a black light, instead get highlighters, cut them open and let them soak in water. Then use that water to fill the containers. Don't forget to label them as well... as long as people can read from where they will be placed. Oh and don't forget to have a few filled with something like ammonium (glass cleaner) for smell. Having a small tv with just static on the screen works well to light the scene as well as look eerie. Get a lab coat from a nurse supply store. Black rubber gloves from an army supply or hardware store. Goggles or welding goggles from a hardware or army supply store. We found an electrical discharge sound online and had that playing in the background. Room ideas - The lab of course, Dungeon to keep all the "experiments," The garden (for all the plants) (which at the Halloween convention this year we saw a huge pot with what looked like a huge bush but was actually someone covered in vines that would grab at you), the library (where all the reference books are,) a spider filled hidden passageway to the next room. I have more but there's a good start.
