How did you know your job was the one you wanted to do?

  • I am currently working in Sales and have no idea what to do with my life. How do you know what you want to do????

    Job that pays more money, hahahaha. Been working with the same job for so many years (mechanic) that I know almost every detail out of it. So less problem I have now unless I move to another job. Job security, company assets, attitude of fellow workers, are all the reasons why I believed it was the right job for me. I mentioned assets because it is very important for the survival of any corporation specially now that the economy is very bad... Edit: A job that you loved to do, in demand, very challenging but not problematic on your part. Above all, it pays good. Although knowledge is very important, it goes hand and hand with experience. You can have all knowledge that you want but without experience, it doesn't mean anything... Very important to any job out there. Good luck to you...

Ever since I can remember, I wanted to be a pilot. Because of the Korean War, I enlisted in the Air Force where my dream came true. If I did not have the aptitude to learn how to fly, then I would have known I would have to do something else. I also like the structured military life. In your case, look at your hobbies, what you like to do, type of people you like and what they do, then consider if you would like to do something in a related field. Many people change career fields several times trying to find the "right one". When in college, my youngest daughter wanted to be in computer science until she got a part time job at a day care. Then she changed her major to Elementary Education and is still a teacher. So think about your possibilities and be honest with the pros and cons of them. Good luck.

You will know when you find a job that you like and enjoy going every day.I did it was my first job full time that i got before i got married,i walked in filled out my app. and they asked me would you like to? Well anyway i said i would try and wow did i do well at it,i became a Manager within a year and after maybe 10 years was promoted to a Corporate Manager.The job was Retail Display i had a art background from school and was just good at it.So do something you enjoy doing,and not take just any job.

if u look forward to going to work and facing new challenges within the specialty then u know that field is right. if not just continue studying different subjects, volunteering in new places, reading up on new things until you find something ur interested in

At a certain age (like just before your first job) most people are far from sure what they want to do. Of course, they don`t always have a choice anyway. If they urgently need a job, some just take the first job available. Just for the money. But maybe later - if they can afford the time - they will then start to realise what they are cut out for, and gravitate towards something they like doing. It sometimes takes years to realise this.

Because I have consulted it with my parents and somewhat some experience in the field that I am going to be working in. You have to choose in your childhood and stick to it then you will be happy.
