How can I make a good resume even if I have no job experience?

How do you make a resume when applying for your first job and you have no experience?

  • I turning 17 I want a job but you need a resume and i hve no experience because its my 1st job.

  • Answer:

fill out the application the best you know how. You're resume should include things you've done (not going to disney land unless you did it with some poor orphans) papers you've written (not a grocery list) but like a research paper. remember practice makes perfect Happy 2008

List life experiences and qualities you have that coinside with the position you are applying for. Extracurricular activities at school and volunteer work are things you may list. Be honest when writing your resume, list a few responsible folks for references that can honestly say good things of you. If you give an example of what you would like to start out doing, I could give a few examples of life experiences/ qualities. Look at the examples on the following sites for starters:

get a baby sitting job, ask friends your family or a local church if they need a sitter. Most people leave their kids in a car cause they are desparate. Get a sales job in a clothes store who doesnt like discounts on fashions, or food service then you could get experience with sales, customer service, and cashiering and resolving cash differences. From there you can get paid training as a bank teller. try call centers they usually offer paid training you learn phone skills from there become a receptionist or switchboard operator. Remember one thing leads to another so make good choices. Always get references. Good luck!

If you did sports, talk about your work ethic towards them it helps ALOT.

List things that you did in school, sports, clubs, grades etc. Give a list of your hobbies, interests, tell them about yourself. Put down some references of relatives that are not your mom, dad, brother etc. If that doesn't work then volunteer for something in your area for a while and then use that as experience.

Well either you are shooting for a high end job that does require experience(and your chance of getting it will be nil). Or you go for something that does require intelligence and you can learn the hands on. Put down all your activities. State on top that you have no work experience but willing to learn(like every resume says that). Either they need a new body who they can mould the way they want (Walmart) or they don't. Just get working. Shows you have a drive.

Think about what you have done. Did you babysit, help with housework, volunteer somewhere? In school were you involved in a group or music? Whatever you have done says a lot about who you are and if you were a leader/president of a club that counts. Also, have you taken any courses that would help you do that type of work or do you plan to in college or a tech school. Don't be shy about stating what you have done. That is the only way future employers can find out about you. Good Luck!

You have to list any experience of any kind like babysitting or any clubs or organizations you were in while in school. Any outside activities like sports or scouting will look good, too. If an employer knows you are a motivated go-getter your lack of experience won't look so bad

Then your Resume should say the truth, that you are a fresh mind that is not cluttered with previous experiences.
