I think you are over thinking things...if you "demo" a product, they are probably looking for how you interact with the customer, your ability to answer questions, knowledge of the product, and that sort of thing. Honestly, if anyone gave me a hand massage, not only would I be weirded out, but my wife probably wouldn't like some strange woman massage her husband's hands. Don't stress about this, this is a part time job, this isn't your career, if you are getting a Master's, you have tackled much tougher obstacles...just use common sense, then customer service should come easy...if a customer asks you about a product, take them to it, ask them what's the occassion, show them baskets, different scents, etc. Basically, if I come in looking for a candle, it'd be nice if I'm greeted promptly, asked "Can I help you?" and if I have a question (like "Where are those things you light with fire and smell good?") the sales person can direct me to the part of the store it is in, and show me what options are available. If you don't know something, don't freak out, just tell the customer "I'm not sure, but let me check with my manager." Personally, I hate group interviews, but just be ready to "sell" yourself. Prepare a brief 2 minute speech on your strengths and why they should hire you (I have a strong work ethic, great ability to adapt, excellent time management skills, etc). But also be ready for questions regarding performance and certain scenarios (Ex. What do you do if you have an angry customer, etc). You'll do fine, don't sweat it, this aint a Masters!

wow. really? i had no idea they were so intricate. I think would think they want someone cute and perky and can sell their lotions. I would just focus on what the products do (moisturize, exfoliate, anti bacterial disinfectant, etc). And try to get a sense of the store and what the cosumer wants. Some people like a smell thats more neutral, others like flowery, others like fruity. I was the hand massage master in high school. the girls in English class loved it. Don't use too much lotion that it feels greasy and use your thumb and index finger as a sandwich with the other person's hand in the middle. Just go in small circles massaging their hand muscles. Press the joints on their fingers to relieve their pressure and push their cuticles back as well. Good luck!
